I’m sharing 5 Reasons Teach Your Kids to Cook! Oh my goodness, the idea is to make cooking a fun filled experience for both you and your child(ren)…no stress involved. A great time to introduce and/or cultivate those cooking skills with your littles is during breaks from school or on the weekends.
5 Reasons Teach Your Kids to Cook
- Fundamental. Cooking develops a fundamental life skill. Because cooking is a skill that they will need for years to come. So it would be great if they become comfortable with making meals. And even become good at it.
- Health Consciousness. Cooking helps kids to become mindful of ingredients used in preparing meals. This enables them to make healthier choices. Since getting our kids started with cooking, they are constantly reading labels more readily now on their own. Looking at sugars, fats and proteins, etc. It’s so cool.
- FUN. Cooking is simply fun. It creates ‘family time’, almost like playing any board game. It brings us together.
- Educational. Cooking is also educational. The preparing and making of food is indeed a science. There are so many learning opportunities that includes both math and science when making food.
- Confidence Builder. Cooking helps to build confidence with the kids. As with cooking, it teaches kids how to carry out particular tasks and steps. And to complete those successfully. And that builds and boosts confidence.
