I’m back into “GET FIT” mode, 9 months post-baby! So getting my ‘healthy eating life’ together is a must, starting with my Veggie intake! Being healthy makes me happy and all those around me benefit from that. So today I’m sharing 5 Simple Ways to Keep Moms Happy and Healthy!

5 Simple Ways to Keep Moms Happy and Healthy

Now I’m one that really likes veggies, it just seems that there isn’t enough time for me to prep the ones that I really like so I’m mostly left with eating lots of lettuce (in salads) which can become a bore. And if I’m honest, I simply end up taking a break from veggies all together. Of course, this is no good if I want to reach the 2½-3 cups of vegetables a day intake recommendation! So the perfect solution is V8® Veggie Blends!

5 Simple Ways to Keep Moms Happy and Healthy

V8® Veggie Blends are an easy way to meet the recommended daily intake. May I add it is great tasting and affordable! This drink has all the benefits of eating veggies but with the taste of fruit (because you know we all love fruit more than veggies)…perfect for people like my hubs who do not like veggies at all. And an 8 oz serving of V8® Veggie Blends equal a full serving (1/2 cup) of vegetables. Awesomely enough, they now come in two new flavors… V8® Veggie Blends: Berry Bliss and Caribbean Greens. I grabbed mine from Walmart on the juice aisle since they are available at any local Walmart store.

The new flavors are not yet available online. So definitely checkout the other great V8 Healthy Greens, yet another one of their great Veggie drinks. You see baby girl is also taking an interest as what I intake she also intakes since I’m still nursing. Yay for more Veggies!

5 Simple Ways to Keep Moms Happy and Healthy

  1. Eat Your Veggies… or more like Drink Your Veggies! It really has proven true for me that the best start to the day, starts with breakfast. But its so easy to skip. So the V8® Veggie Blends from Walmart have been a great way to get breakfast in as well as my veggies, a 1-2 combo punch! It’s a better start to your day than other sugary drinks since each 8oz. serving is 60 calories or less with no sugar added and no artificial colors, flavors or added preservatives. V8® Veggie Blends are 75% juice and 25% pure water! How’s that for good health!5 Simple Ways to Keep Moms Happy and Healthy
  2. Keep Moving. I know there never seems to be enough time in the day and sometimes exercise is the last thing we want to do after running after the kids all day. But you gotta admit after you’ve taken a brisk walk or jog, you ALWAYS feel better. So keep it moving! Go for a walk during your lunch break or with the kids when you get home. Or if you’re at home, take the kids out for a walk. 5 Simple Ways to Keep Moms Happy and Healthy
  3. Do What You Love. To make sure everyone else is taken care of, Moms tend to put things that we love to do on the back burner. It feels great to pour into others and to serve others. In the same token; however, do some things that you love. This will keep you happy and help you to better serve others from your happy place.
  4. Meditation/Quiet Time. The world is so noisy, we need to make sure we carve out time just to be quiet. It is a must for me to get in my devotional and to pray in the mornings before the kids wake up although, with baby its sometimes hard to do. It really grounds my day and helps me to turn my attentions on things that matter most.
  5. Set small goals and reward yourself. If you are like me, you can go through your whole day or week for that matter feeling as though you haven’t completed anything. This can leave you feeling less than accomplished. So, jot down a few goals that you’d like to accomplish for the day (even if that includes getting a hot shower) or the week.  Once you’ve reached those goals, reward yourself.

So here’s to keeping Moms like you and me happy! What would you add to the list to keep Moms Healthy and Happy?

  1. I love the idea about setting small goals and rewarding yourself through the workday! That is an excellent way to break up the monotony of a long day at the desk. Thanks for sharing the new V8 flavors, too! #client

  2. Setting small girls is key! It’s the only way to not feel bad or guilty along the way. V8 is awesome and I’ve loved the flavors they’ve come out with over the years. I’ll have to check the new ones out.

  3. I really love the point about having a quiet time first thing in the morning. That lays the right foundation for my day. Those veggie blends are so tempting! And your blog is really lovely.

  4. Natasha, there seriously is NOT enough time in the day and this comes from a girl with no kids. My hat goes off to you and people with kids cuz that is so much work. But I agree, I do feel better after I’ve worked out and think to stay active and moving is a great idea! Annnnnnd having some v8 along for it is a tasty addition to a workout!
