5 Traits of Great Moms
5 Traits of Great Moms. I have such a great Mom! She is the strongest woman I know…she is so giving to others, more than anyone that I know. One thing my mom said so many times when I was growing up was that…if anything ever happened to her; we would never have another Mom like her. It may have sounded a little braggadocios but we believed it! Growing up my Mom cooked like it was Sunday everyday of the week it seemed. I really didn’t realize how special that was until I left for college and didn’t have those kind of meals on the regular. She made sure we were in church every time the doors were opened, prayed with us and for us, giving me the biblical foundation that I needed to help me become the person that I am today! She didn’t try to be my friend, she made sure that she was my Mom!
I love my Mom! Here’s my Mom when she came to visit after the baby arrived earlier this year.
Now here are 5 Traits that my Mom and every Great Mom Possess:
- The Ability to Express Love freely – a Mother’s Love helps to shape their children. A Mother never gives up on her child. Love never fails.
- A Heart for Others – a Mother that shows love for others and that selflessly helps others, shows her children how to love others like Jesus loves.
- Patience – Patience, it is a virtue and all great mothers have this trait. Being short fused all the time does not help anyone, having patience speaks volumes to children in ways we may never know until they are older.
- The Ability to Teach – Teaching begins in the home. Thus, a great Mother must have the ability to teach her children…right from wrong, life skills, etc.
- The Humility to Admit Wrongs – Mom’s are not perfect and we shouldn’t act like we are. A Strong woman and Great Mom, admits wrongs and apologizes when it’s needed. It shows children that it’s okay to make mistakes and that forgiveness is for everyone.
Happy Mother’s Day to All You Great Moms out there!!
