Advanced Maternal Age, what’s that?

Advanced Maternal Age…New to my vocabulary! I’d never heard of the term until now when my doctor says, “You’re considered to be Advanced Maternal Age” since you’re over 34. I said, “Ok”.
It didn’t bother me and it still doesn’t. I don’t let myself get consumed with too much of anything these days…what people say or think. But according to medical talk, advanced maternal age women (women over age 34 / 35) who become pregnant are higher risk for several things. According to the Mayo Clinic:
- It might take longer to get pregnant.
- You’re more likely to have a multiple pregnancy.
- You’re more likely to develop gestational diabetes.
- You’re more likely to develop high blood pressure during pregnancy.
- You’re more likely to have a low birth weight baby and a premature birth.
- You might need a C-section.
- The risk of chromosome abnormalities is higher.
- The risk of pregnancy loss is higher.
Well, as a Jesus Girl I made a conscious decision to not allow any of these things get into my thoughts. I chose to see what the Word of God says!
My church actually gave me a book called Supernatural Childbirth by Terry Mize Ministries when I was expecting our last child (4 years ago) but since I received it at the end of my pregnancy, I didn’t read it. I had intentions of giving it to another expectant mother but didn’t get around to that either. Anyways, since I still had it, I begin reading and just finished it. It is such an awesome read for any woman who is trying to conceive or expecting. It’s definitely a faith builder in what God says you can have during pregnancy and delivery. And God’s Plan is Perfect and his Word is True!
So here are a few things that I’ve taken from the book that counteracts the so called risks for women who are conceiving or expecting that can be applied here.
Having a Hard time conceiving:
And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb…Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you. (Deuteronomy 7:13,14)
Any Sickness whether morning sickness, gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.:
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:4,5)
Fear of Miscarriage:
Perfect love casts out fear (I John 4:18).
And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy thy fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. (Malachi 3:11) “Casting your fruit before its time” refers to miscarriage.
Pain During Delivery:
Pain during delivery is part of the curse that came upon the woman after Adam and Eve sinned…“Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply they sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children (Genesis 3:16)
BUT Praise God… we are no longer under that curse so we don’t have to experience “sorrow” or pain during delivery!
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree. (Galatians 3:13)
And these verse’s are only a few that I pulled that you can meditate and confess to combat any negative thoughts about conception and pregnancy at any age. There are pages and pages of promises, confessions and prayers are all laid out and explained perfectly in the books on Supernatural Childbirth here {affiliate link included for your shopping convenience}.
