Blog Posts People Read
You want people to read your blog but are you making sure, that you are enabling them to get the most out of their visit. This post is about Blog Posts People Read.
When I first started blogging I really didn’t have any idea regarding how to organize a blog post. But over the years, I figured it out based on which posts had higher readability using my blog’s analytics and my own preferences when reading other blogs.
Blog Posts That People Read include:
- A Clear Subject. Your audience should know what the post is about from the first few sentences.
- They are Short and Sweet. Have you heard the term ‘microwave society’. Well that’s what we are living in and no one seemingly has time for anything, much less time to read a lengthy blog post. So keep it to a minimal. This does not apply for those who post for therapy…sometimes you just have to write it all out. It makes you feel better and that’s ok.
- They answer ‘What’s In It for Me’. You want to be sure you answer this question for your audience. How can this post help, teach or inspire someone else.
How do you formulate your posts? Do you use any of these tips?
Wonderful tip. If I don’t see something that catches my interest right away, I usually move on.
Thank you and I totally agree with you…if it doesn’t catches my interest right…I’m apt to move on as well.
I agree in the main, although I have to add that as mine is a dedicated writer’s blog, people are expecting longer posts! I think the general rule is to keep them short but it depends on the blog also.
I agree with the general rule…it will depend on your niche and audience. Thank you!
So true about keeping blog posts, short and sweet! I don’t have the attention span to read thousands of words LOL.
I definitely agree…mine too lol!
I agree with all of these! I especially struggle with #2 because I am such a verbose person!
Thanks so much and I can understand that…
I agree with all of these! I struggle with number 2 as well! I feel like I get conflicting advice: long lengthy posts can engage readers, but at the same time if they are too long then you loose interest. Also, number 3 is something I find myself making sure I ask every time. There are some posts I’ve written, added images and are ready to hit publish but never do because they don’t answer that question!
It’s true about conflicting advice about the length of post…I believe it truly depends on your niche and you audience.
Well, this post is certainly short and sweet, exactly as you suggest! 🙂 I think #3 is the hardest for me.

Lol, thanks! And I agree, I have been working more on #3.
