When we make the decision to grow in our faith, it may feel uncomfortable. But God is constantly calling us deeper in Him. To grow your faith. To grow my faith.
“Deep calls to deep at the [thundering] sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me.”
Psalms 42:7 AMP
Like crashing waterfalls.
Beautiful to watch.
And often peaceful to listen to.
But where the falls meet the water’s surface…there’s turbulence.
An unsteadiness.
Beyond surface level.
Going deeper. In our faith.
Into a place where deep calls to deep.
The deep.
A place where the rubber meets the road.
Abrasive. Yet peaceful.
Challenged. Yet filled with grace.
Unsettling. Yet comforted.
The place where “come what may”, you know that God is sovereign.
The deep.
A secret place of sorts.
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Psalm 91:1 NKJV
Breakers and waves.
The deep, where all that we see is God.
Where all we can cling to is God.
Where deep calls to deep.
That is where we discover God more intimately.
May we launch into the deep.
Placing our faith, our hope, our love and our trust in God.
“I have learned to kiss the waves that throw me up against the Rock of Ages” -Charles H. Spurgeon
