Disney Ride Favorites 2016

Disney Ride Favorites. We’re just getting back from our Disney Vacation and I’m kicking off this year’s Disney Mini Series with our favorite rides of 2016. Also checkout 2015’s favorites here.

1. Expedition Everest – This was our 1st time on this ride, located in Animal Kingdom. It’s one of our new favorites with an 80 feet drop and other thrills like going backwards and having the appearance that the track has run out. I can’t believe our kids wanted to go on it again after the 1st time.

2. Space Mountain (Still a Favorite) – This ride is a favorite amongst the older kids. It’s such a thrill ride in the dark…our favorite at Magic Kingdom for sure. Our youngest boy still wasn’t tall enough as there is a minimum height is  44 inches.

3. Splash Mountain –  It was our 1st time on this ride at Magic Kingdom. We snagged a go first thing once the park opened saving a FastPass+. It was so fun…the kids loved it. Yes, you will get wet and it is a 50 feet drop.

4. Big Thunder Mountain.  This is a cool roller coaster with sharp turns and dips at Magic Kingdom. Third time was a charm. We used our 1st FastPass+ on this ride.

5. Kali River Rapids. This ride is located in Animal Kingdom, this thrill water ride was so cool some dips and a waterfall. You will get wet or soaked on this ride. Either of which is okay, on a hot Summer day.

6. Mine Train. This roller coaster features the Seven Dwarfs of Snow white. This is such a cool coaster. I love the inside of this ride when you get to see and hear the dwarfs singing. The cave is illuminated with jewels…such a pretty sight.

7. Mission Space – This attraction simulates a space mission. Each rider is assigned a job for the mission (commander, engineer, navigator or pilot). You have the option of less intense or intense. Since we did the parent swap, I went with the kids 1st so we opted for less intense. 2nd go around with my hubs, they did the intense option. It was very cool.

8. Frozen Ever After – Well there were no FastPass+ available for this ride. It’s new to Epcot this year so there was an hour wait. Thankfully, the wait was all indoors with air conditioning. The cool thing is that everyone in the family could ride. I really enjoyed it! You will see Olaf, Ana and Elsa and scenery from the movie Frozen. The ride takes place in a boat. Small unexpected drops add to the fun of this attraction.

  1. LOVE LOVE LOVE Mt Everest! One of the more innovative rides at Disney World for sure. Haven’t rode on the Frozen ride yet, but can’t wait to!!

    1. Yes, it was so awesome! I really enjoyed the Frozen one…I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as well!

  2. So cool! I haven’t been to Disney for a long time, so a few of these are new to me. The Frozen one sounds like fun, and the space one does too. I’d probably have to go less intense because I’m a chicken 🙂

    1. Lol, as our kids are getting older, I feel myself becoming more and more adventurous :)!

  3. Space Mountain is the best!! I rode it 3x in a row last time I was at Disney Land, way too much fun. I haven’t heard of Expedition Everest, I’ll have to check it out next time I’m in Anaheim.

    1. If you love Space Mountain, you will LOVE Everest!

    1. Thanks so much and Whoo hoo! I know you are excited to plan your trip!
