What does it mean to be a #GirlBoss? Here is Girl Boss Defined. To me, it is being my own Boss, it is seeking God. And asking him to lead, guide and direct me into the life that he planned for me. One in which I use the gifts that he has placed inside of me. To help others while also bringing in income! It’s funny when I think about it, there were signs that told me that I was destined for entrepreneurship. For instance, in grade school, I would buy penny candy and then resale it for a profit…funny but true! My husband likes to say that I have a hustle for days. Meaning I have so many talents and ideas for business!

Girl Boss Defined

So with the leading of the Lord, I stepped out on faith and I resigned my position at a Pharmaceutical firm at the end of last year {2014}, ending an over 10 year career as a full-time salaried Engineer and I have never been happier! I now own my own Pharma Consulting Firm and have more time to spend with the loves of my life, my hubs and kids. Have the flexibility to do all the things I love, like blog, photography, hair, and fashion! Also, I now have a chair in a Salon as a Licensed Natural Hair Care Specialist, fulfilling a life long dream of mine to be a Stylist, while still maintaining the flexibility that I want by appointment only bookings. God is so good! I keep calling it the Zoe life, which is the good life that God intended for me!

So here I am at 37 I mean 36 {Just updated – My hubs caught this typo when he read this post…I never remember how old I am because my birthday is in Dec…am I the only one?}, being my own boss and doing what I love. And having said all that, I am truly finding that this life journey is not about me but it is about reaching and touching others along the way. So whether I’m on a project at a Pharma facility or doing a client’s hair in the Salon, my goal is to reach and touch others for Christ…while being the #GirlBoss that I was made to be!

  4. Wow Tasha!!! Congratulations!! I wish I had that hustle spirit. It’s just not in me. I don’t want to sound defeatist but some of the things I wish I was better at, I’m just not! So, I’m definitely putting more effort into seeking God and praying for my business and other endeavors in which I wish to partake. I pray that He leads me and gives me a plan. I pray that He enhances the skills I already have so that I can acknowledge them and live the life I want to live…in line with His plan!!
