3 Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a Newborn
Valentine’s Day with a Newborn. Got a little that is too little for a babysitter? Well there’s no reason to not celebrate with the Love of your life on the most commercialized day of Love, Right :)! Yes, it’s commercialized but we still love Valentine’s Day!
This will be tricky but it can be done. Obviously, I had to do some brainstorming with Valentine’s Day just around the corner and our littlest arriving only a few weeks ago.
1. Get Take out – Send hubs out for takeout from your favorite nearby eating spot. You can choose to dress up or to keep it casual. Set the table, light some candles and put on soft music to set the atmosphere. But if you’re like us, just spending the time, eating in the presence of each other will do!
2. Cook in Advance – Cook food ahead of time or do a crock pot meal. Put the kids to bed, the earlier the better. For the baby…who knows what their sleep pattern is? Feed the baby and put the baby down for resting. The baby may not be sleep but you should have some uninterrupted time, maybe at least 1 hour to enjoy your food, we pray.
3. Make Dessert – So maybe dinner is not an option. Once the kiddos are put to bed, make your favorite desert together. Something that’s not too time consuming like whoopie pies or chocolate covered strawberries to name a few. Or the dessert can also be made in advance and you can just take the time to share the dessert over great conversation!
No matter what you do, choose to spend some uninterrupted time with your sweetie on Valentine’s Day, even if it is that 30 minutes between feedings for your newborn. Your love is what made that baby in the first place :)!
What are you V-day plans?
