The journey through grief is a deeply personal and challenging one, marked by feelings of isolation, pain, and hopelessness. In times of grief and loss, it can often feel like the walls are closing in, and the darkness is overwhelming. However, amidst the despair, there is always a glimmer of hope, a guiding light that leads us out of the darkness. I recently had the privilege of sitting down with Dr. Quintrilla Ard, a grief and loss coach, to have a heart-to-heart conversation about navigating grief, finding hope, and the power of community in the midst of sorrow. Dr. Ard shared her personal experiences, insights, and words of encouragement that resonate deeply with anyone walking through the valley of grief on how to find hope, joy, and community in grief.

It is an exponentially more painful experience when you try to suffocate the joy. And so that’s one of the biggest things is giving people permission, letting them know that it is okay to experience joy. It is okay to smile, to laugh, to lean in…we’re not saying the grief doesn’t exist. We know it exists, but we can’t say the joy doesn’t exist either.
