One of the largest events in North Carolina, “Women’s Empowerment”, had an open casting call for Make-Up Artists, Models, Hairstylist and Dancers for their annual fashion show. I nearly dismissed the idea of auditioning as a Make-Up Artist but as an Independent Beauty Consultant, I thought it would be a great way to network.

Auditions were held today from noon – 8pm. When I arrived at the location, there was a line about 3 blocks long. Most were models and thankfully after waiting for some time, a representative came out and asked for Make-Up Artists. For MUA’s, a model was provided and you had to deliver a runway look on the model in 15 minutes! Time started when you touched the model’s face. After finishing, the model was taken for judging. They mentioned that they would have liked to have seen the technique of facial contouring but thought that the look was great given the timing. They will inform those who are selected by email, so I’ll keep you posted! Here’s the look…

What do you think of the 15min look? Could you see it on the runway?

  2. Did you come up with this look or were you given guidance or something because this is amazing and definitely looks like something I’d see on project runway or the models on fashion week! How awesome!!!

Thanks Nicole!! Yes, I came up with it on my own. For the audition, MUA’s were given a model and 15min to give them a runway makeup look, whatever your interpretation of that is. Thanks again, I hope to hear from them. I’ll keep you posted!
