Week 22: No More Tears {Previous Weeks}
Revelation 21:4 (NIV)
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
I can’t remember ever crying this much in my life…maybe it’s because I didn’t know as much as I know now! Meaning as a child, I didn’t know about death, divorce, debt, about the dog eat dog world of Corporate America and that life can just be so unfair at times but now I know. In this I am reminded that the bible says that there is much sorrow in obtaining wisdom. Ecclesiastes 1:18 specifically states, “For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.”
I like to say that tears are our emotions expelled in liquid form; whether happy, glad, mad or sad… Life would be so easy if we never had to go through anything. But the fact is, we would never learn anything if we never experienced anything. Life’s experiences is our greatest teacher!
So I take So much encouragement in these TRUTHs…
–Those who sow with tears, will reap with songs of joy. Psalm 126:5 (NIV)
–God keeps track of all my sorrows. He has collected all my tears in his bottle. He has recorded each one in his book. Psalm 56:8 (NLT)
AND the greatest news is the subject verse, Revelation 21:4, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes.”! Just when you think that things are at their worst and you can’t see through your tears; God steps in and turns it all around!
We’re all in this thing called life together…be encouraged! Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5)!
This is so perfect for what I had been going through. It’s true what you say, when we’re younger we’re pretty much oblivious to all the negative things in the world and we see the things in such a positive manner. Of course, once we get older and find out how dark and negative the world can be it makes us so overwhelmed. But certain verses in the Bible always serve to remind us that there’s a reason for everything and though things may be difficult and our emotions out of control, God is always with us and he will prevail. That is as long as we let him. I love reading this devotional series, it always brings me a certain peace. Thank you doll. God bless
Thanks so much for reading! I totally agree with you as well…the Bible serves as a reminder that all things word together for our good. God is with us and he will prevail!
