Smoked Fried BBQ Wings

OMG my Carolina Panthers won their game last weekend…Finally, might I add lol! It has been a bit rough thus far with a record of 2-5. But each week, we’ve been tuning in to cheer our boys on. Now I’m sure the kids enjoy the food more than the football on Sunday’s. What we call our Football Sunday. It’s when we have all the kids (with our blended family schedule) and we make our favorite game day foods to watch Football for some fun family time. Today, I’m sharing my fave Football Sunday food, Smoked Fried BBQ Wings!

Smoked Fried BBQ Wings

They are exactly how they sound. They are smoked 1st, then they are fried…yep, a bit more effort BUT SO well worth it! Look at the smoke…I love the smell!

Prep: Wings are cut and washed. Apply your choice of rub (we use Uncle Yammy’s) and marinate in butter milk overnight in the fridge. Prior to cooking: Take the chicken out of fridge, drain and pat dry and allow to come to room temperature. Salt and Pepper per your liking. Cooking: With your Smoker around 225 deg F {in the Smoke Zone on your Weber Smoker}, smoke the wings for about 2 hours. Then place in your deep frier per frier recommendation for 1-2 minutes. Allow grease to drain. Then toss in a BBQ sauce of choice (we love Sweet Baby Ray’s) and serve immediately. And there you have it :)! Total courtesy of my HUBS…Thanks Babe!

And here’s our Football Sunday spread featuring Smoked Fried BBQ Wings.
