Snow Days have been the talk all week in my area…and with that talk of snow came the thought of making snow cream. Have you ever heard of it? My mom and dad made this yummy treat whenever it would snow, which was very rare. I can remember one important rule and that was “you have to wait until after the first snow” before you can use the snow to make snow cream. Supposedly, the first snow takes care of any pollutants that may be in the atmosphere so any snow after the 1st snow was good for eating! So I placed a bowl out on our patio to capture the white fluffy stuff to make the snow cream and here’s how it’s done…extremely simple!
Ingredients: 2 cups of fresh snow, 1/4 cup of evaporated milk, 1/3 cup of sugar, 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
Mix all ingredients in a bowl with a spoon. Pour into a glass and serve. This made 1 serving.
My snow cream came out more like milkshake…the kids loved it! It was yummy and there’s still more snow in the freezer to make more!
Omg looks yummy!
