So over a year ago, my husband and I decided that I could have a room in the house just for me, like his Man Cave! I was so excited about the idea that I started sketching out designs of how I wanted it to look, what cool things I would include in it, and a list of things that I needed to make it happen. I knew that it would be a place for creating, where I could sew, do crafts with the kids, draw/paint, or whatever suited my fancy.

Today, a year later, in the character voice of Marty Huggins in the movie “The Campaign”, “It’s A Mess”!

I’m using the room to sew in but I’ve yet to make the room into a place conducive to creating; no paint, no curtains, no style! But with my hubby’s help, my now boring/messy sewing room will be transformed into the Glam Cave: an organized, stylish, girly, creative work and enjoyment space where All Things Lovely will be created!

A few things I have so far to get started:
Paint (Valspar Lyndhurst Victorian Rose, Lowes) – this will give a girly but chic feel

Pendant Light Fixture (Lowes) – this will add immediate style

Flat screen TV (32” for my birthday gift from my hubby) – got to have entertainment!

I’m also making my own craft table from ideas I got from a few DIY sites by taking a hollow flush door from Lowes and 2 bookcases from Walmart, creating a pretty good size craft table for only $55! It will be half the size of the one pictured below.

I’ll be sure to keep you posted on the progress of the room. The goal is to have it mostly completed by the end of the month!
