My Hubby and I participated in The Color Run(TM), our very 1st 5K, this past Saturday! This 5K is hailed as the Happiest 5K on the Planet and rightfully so! This 3.2 mile run to be exact, is filled with color and fun! The pre-race starts with tons of music, entertainment and giveaways. The route of the run contains 4 different sections, called “color zones”, where volunteers were happily standing by to douse us with a particular color for that zone. Everytime we came up to a zone; I would totally forget about the run itself and fix my mind on doing a 360 while running through the zone so I could get the optimal amount of color on my white t-shirt…loved it! The color is all biodegradable which is great because the orange color zone volunteers were aggressive and I ended up getting a chunk of color in my mouth!
All in all, this was such an awesome, awesome activity to share in with my hubby…we had a blast! The run was very family friendly. There were tons of kids there of all ages and some babies in runner strollers enjoying the scene. I loved the fact that it was a casual 5K, meaning it wasn’t timed. You could run, walk, or cart-wheel as they stated! I would definitely do it again!
