The Key To A Happy Marriage
My hubs and I just celebrated 5 Years of Marriage, with it both being our 2nd time around. Having said that, we have learned so much and have grown so much from the experience. What we both agree is that the Key to a Happy Marriage is being selfLESS! That’s right, selfless. As human beings, we are inherently selfish and selfishness can ruin any relationship.
So the Key to a Happy Marriage can be summed up in these few verses from God’s Word in the Bible. It is no doubt the formula for a happy God-breathed marriage. To bring this point home, I’ve included different versions of these verses.
1. Romans 12:10
Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle. (MSG)
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. (NIV)
2. Luke 6:31 (The Golden Rule)
Do to others as you would have them do to you. (NIV)
And as you would like and desire that men would do to you, do exactly so to them. (AMP)
**Remember to keep these verses in context with the marriage/spousal relationship. Meditate on them and see how they transform you from the inside out and see how it positively affects your marriage, as well as, other relationships.
