Time is so precious and there are so many ways to spend our time. So, we are constantly trying to find ways to optimize it, organize it and stretch it. But the bottom line is still that “Time Keeps on Ticking”

For me a typical day consists of the following:
Morning devotional “Jesus Calling“/prayer
Workout
Get dressed/hair/makeup
Get kids dressed (my hubby takes care of the boys – so awesome)
Work 8ish-5ish
Pickup kids
Assist w/ homework
Prepare/eat dinner
Family Time
Pick up around the house
Get kids ready for bed, kids devotional/prayer (me w/ my girl & hubby w/ the boys)/put to bed
Work on blog
Brainstorm/work on clothing designs
Hubby Time
Prep for bed/Night Night

Really???
Yes, sometimes I don’t know how I do it! Well….really, sometimes, things just don’t get done and then I’m left feeling a little defeated. So, I am still trying to find ways to balance and fit everything in or more so learning to prioritize and focus on things that matter the most.

In my quiet time this week I was reading a chapter in a book titled “A Woman after God’s Own Heart” and the author gives a list of potential ‘Time robbers’. The list assists in identifying things that steal your valuable time. Once identified, you can prayerfully begin to eliminate them. Take a look to see if any of these apply to you and your time:
-Procrastination
-Inadequate personal planning and scheduling
-Interruptions by people without appointments (Please note, your children are not interruptions-they are your greatest work and the best investment of your time!)
-Failure to delegate
-Poor use of the telephone
-Reading junk mail
-Lack of concern for good time management
-Unclear priorities

Are any of these robbing your time?

  1. You know I feel this post! I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately actually trying to decide how to accomplish all I want to accomplish without it robbing me of family time and me time. I’ve also wanted to read that book for some time now. Is it worth downloading on my Kindle?!?
