Hands down, The Lion King is one of my all time favorite movies. Along with the rest of the world, I’m beyond excited about the upcoming Live Action version of the 1994 Lion King film by Disney, coming July 19. We’ve been watching the original over and over, getting ready for the movie release, lol. So, I’m sharing my 3 Reasons Why This Generation Needs the Lion King.
3 Reasons Why This Generation Needs the Lion King
- For the Culture. The Lion King takes place in the beautiful Pride Lands of Africa. The setting, the music and the cast is bringing us all life. Speaking of which, this film is bringing together an amazing cast: starring Beyonce, Donald Glover, James Earl Jones, Billy Eichner, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Seth Rogen, Alfre Woodard and more. And I know I’m not the only one that is too excited about James Earl Jones. As he was the original voice of Mufasa. How cool is that!
- For the Encouragement. The Lion King teaches us so much on how to overcome hardships. It’s really my favorite reasons. Like Wow, the story of Simba alone, is a journey of loss, discovery, recovery, forgiveness, and love. All the feels. We’re encouraged not to worry. With ‘Hakuna Matata’, it means no worries. We’re encouraged in that, in the end all things will work out.
- For the Love. Can’t you feel the love tonight. YAS, for the Love of Disney! Really though, can you think of a Disney film that’s really let you down? Uhm, no, don’t even! I can remember being so captivated when I was able to catch The Lion King on broadway. It was such an awesome experience. And I believe this live action movie will be the same!
