Building your very own business from the ground up can be risky and sometimes down right daunting but it can also be extremely rewarding. Being an Entreprenuer is not easy for anyone. But as a Momprenuer, Moms are also trying to juggle and balance family and home life. So today I’m sharing 5 Character Traits of Exceptional Momprenuers and introducing you to a few that I know!
Now I’ve had sooo many “things”/businesses over the years that have helped me learn. I actually started my first business when I was still in middle school. Doing everyone’s hair in our neighborhood for a fee. Then in college, where my earnings would go to paying for a spring break getaway. That’s when of course the regulations were different for hair stylist back then lol. But from there, I’ve continued with an entrepreneurial mindset even now as a Mom…learning from each venture. I’ve learned the most from my failures though. With each failure has come the needed knowledge to make future ventures successful. For instance, my baby, Love Drop Apothecary, an artisan line of natural products for Health, Beauty and Home will launch 2019 and I can’t be more excited! I know that it has taken “all the things” that I’ve learned in the past to get me to this place as an Exceptional Momprenuer. Be sure I’ll be sharing more as we near launch and you can also follow along on Instagram and Facebook.
5 Character Traits of Exceptional Momprenuers
Passion. No surprise there! Passion will get your business further than just about anything else. It’s noted that people who launch a business only to make money most likely will fail. And to be honest I have had a few of those ventures simply because I didn’t know any better. But if you have a burning passion within you, you can’t help but share it with others. It will help others to see what you see in your business. And your business is more likely to thrive.
Commitment. When the going gets tough, the exception Momprenuer gets tougher. There is no stopping these women on a mission. They are committed to the success of their business because they know there is no victory without sacrifice.
Hard Work. The bible says in the book of Proverbs that Planning plus Hard Work equals success. And you better believe it. Nothing comes from nothing.
Fearlessness. As I mentioned earlier, building a business especially from the ground up can be risky. You have to possess some level of fearlessness. Especially, from the fear of failure. Because the truth of the matter is, you are more likely to fail at some point in your business building journey but you can’t be afraid of that nor let it keep you from trying or trying again.
Grit. THIS is sheer persistence and determination! Every successful Exceptional Momprenuer has to have grit. I believe that some people just have it and some acquire it through experience. Nevertheless, you must have it in order to succeed as a Momprenuer.
So now that I’ve shared the 5 Character Traits of Exceptional Momprenuers, let me introduce you to a few Momprenuers that I love and know personally who continually inspire me. Meet These Exceptional Momprenuers
Margaret Johnson, my bestie, my friend of over 30 years, is a Christian Author and Speaker, has authored several books sold on Amazon, has had countless speaking engagements and hosts uplifting conferences annually. And now alongside her husband has recently launched a Commercial and Residential Custom Cleaning business that is taking off with seemingly new contracts each week. Offering custom cleaning services in both the New Bern NC as well as the Raleigh NC and surrounding areas.
Tasha McLean, my long time friend from college, is the Owner of Sparklin’ Petz Mobile Grooming Spa. And I remember when it was just an idea. When she would talk to us about owning her own pet grooming business and acquire a mobile trailer of her own. She worked on making her vision a reality all while working a regular job and taking care of her daughter. I’m so so proud of this lady. She has been in the grooming industry for 10 years and has owned her own business now for 5 years. And now has more business than she can stand and currently looking to expand. She offers services in the Raleigh NC and surrounding areas.
So are you an Exceptional Momprenuer? I’d love to hear your story!
