5 Money Saving Summer Kid Activities
5 Money Saving Summer Kid Activities. Summer is here and the kids are out of school and ready to expend some energy! What do you plan for them? If you are like me, you like to keep your day somewhat structured even throughout the summer.
- Camp Creativity. Hosted by Michaels. Camp Creativity is a summer crafting journey for kids 3 and up. June 13 – July 29. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for only $5 or $12 for 3 sessions.
- Kids Bowl Free. Kids receive 2 free games of bowling every day all summer long, valued at over $500 per child. You do however, have to pay for the shoes. We participated last year and it is definitely worth it. You will need to choose your timing wisely, because a lot of families are participating along with you.
- Summer Reading Programs. Free, hosted by your local library. The activities vary based upon your library but our includes pretty cool activities like Kid’s Zumba, Story Tellers and other cool activities.
- Regal Summer Movie Express. $1 at participating theaters (check your local regal theaters). As noted on their site, “The Regal Summer Movie Express is a 9-week adventure in movie-going! Regal will present “G” or “PG” rated movies at 10AM each Tuesday and Wednesday for during Summer Break.”
- Open Gym. There is a typically a small fee to go to “open gym” at your local recreation center or local gymnastic locations. For us, it is offered by a local gymnastics facility for $5 per child and at the recreation center for free, if you are a member.
Here are a few other low-cost summer activities that I posted last year that we’ll also be partaking of this summer! What activities do you have planned?
We definitely love to take our kids to the movies on the weekends early in the am because its so much cheaper than taking them during the day or night.
Yes, we love the movies and the cheaper the better!
Great ideas! I need to sign my boys up for the summer reading program right away. I keep forgetting. The bowling sounds fun too!
Thanks so much and definitely sign them up!
