So, I taught my very 1st Jewelry Class a little over a week ago and I had a blast! My church makes use of Small Groups, where groups of people that share similar interests come together and have fun doing what they have in common. The small groups create unity and community within and throughout our church, especially as we are continuing to expand. The Small Group Leader for the Jewelry Class asked if I would teach one of her classes and although I had never taught one; I gladly accepted!

For the class I decided to teach the ladies how to make a ribbon bead necklace. I thought this would be simple since I was already making these adorably chic, yet simple necklaces for bridesmaids for a wedding in May. Many people don’t know this but I enjoy teaching…I actually thought to teach after I retire! I’m not sure if I’ll stick to that but it’s a happy thought. So anyways, I really enjoyed teaching the class and at some point I will add ‘Jewelry Making’ classes to my list of things to do for my jewelry business and as some DIY sessions on the blog!

Later, I will post a DIY of how to make this necklace…so stay tuned! Until then, enjoy a few pics I took of the lovely ladies and their new necklaces…beautiful, right?

  1. I know you did an awesome job teaching this class! My favorite necklaces are yours (of course) and the 1st and 2nd pictures. So elegant. There’s just something about those pearls!

Thanks so much Mionna! It was so fun and I just love the look of the pearls too! I’m convinced it not so much the technique of a jewelry design that makes it beautiful but the pieces that are placed in the design!
