Merry Christmas!!! It is the most wonderful time of the year at Bilmore Estate…so today I’m sharing our recent and 1st visit, at the Biltmore Estate Christmas. Along with Tips for Visiting with Kids.

Oh you guys this place is fantabulous, from the Grande Staircase to the Dining Hall to the Sitting Rooms, to the indoor swimming pool and bowling alley! But my absolute favorite room in the entire home…is the library! And can’t you see why?

Now here are my Tips…

Biltmore Estate Christmas – Tips for Visiting with Kids

Advanced tickets. Get advanced tickets to avoid lines. By doing so you can also get a discount if ordering your tickets online within 7 days of your visit. During the Christmas season: For adults…$65, kids ages (10-16)…$32.50, and kids 9 and under are free.

Audio tour. Get the audio tour. The self guided tour is included with your day ticket. So this audio tour is a winner. With adults and especially with the kids as the kid’s audio tour is commentated by the Vanderbilt’s dog Cedric and gives neat history of each area of the house. At a low cost of only $10.98.

Scavenger Hunt. Cedric’s Seek and Sniff Treasure Hunt is a free resource for kids that can be printed in advance or you can grab it when you get there at the information table.

Allot time. Be sure to plan for touring around your kids’ normal schedule. If you have littles that still nap, as I do, you will want to make sure that the tour does not interrupt their normal nap time. A cranky child on a tour is no good :).

Stroller/Carrier. If you have a baby or toddler, you can bring a stroller. If you can get away with just a carrier, this would be best. With my almost 2 year old toddler, I brought along the stroller as well as a carrier. I used the carrier to get to the third floor as well as the basement.
