Week 32: Born to Die {Previous Weeks}

Isaiah 9:6 New King James Version (NKJV)

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given;”

Born to Die. The story of Jesus tells us that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, which means like you and I, Jesus was human. Just to think that Jesus’s purpose in life was to die for us is so sobering. We often wonder and search for our purpose in life, whether it is to be prosperous in our business ventures, to be a better parent or spouse or to give more, to help others more, to minister to those in need more, etc and some of us never get there. But can you imagine how it would be to realize that your main purpose in life was to die…and to die for people who didn’t even love him or treat him as he should be treated…to die for people who he had not even seen. It’s just mind blowing…

So as you begin this holiday season remember the baby Jesus who was born of the Virgin Mary, whose main purpose in life was to die for you and I! How High and Wide and Deep and Great is the Father’s love for us.

Ephesians 3:17-19 Amplified Bible (AMP)

17 May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,

18 That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];

19 [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
