Christmas Magic, Wishing You Joy

Christmas Magic. The holiday season is in full swing around our house, as we put up our Christmas decor the weekend following Thanksgiving. This has been our family tradition for the past several years. The kids did such an awesome job, being patient, waiting their turn to put ornaments on the tree. We even have a small tree that they decorate on their own for upstairs in which the youngest says “theirs” looks better than “mine”.

And so, I have been in a photography mood and wanted to try this shot with our son. It took a little bit of coaxing for him to cooperate, but with some Oreo cookies, he complied.  For this shot, I used a high ISO at 800, tons of radial hand edits in Lightroom and Pretty Presets Free Christmas Overlays.

I love how it turned out…”Wishing You Joy”, “Merry Christmas”!

Christmas Magic

Do you have plans for family Holiday portraits this year?

  1. One of my favorite things to see during the holiday season is children in front of Christmas trees. Their faces are so full of wonder!

    1. Thanks Allison, what perfect wording…”their faces so full of wonder”! It’s so true!
      Thanks so much for visiting!

  2. We don’t typically take holiday portraits, but I’m looking forward to all the Christmas day candid shots. Last year he was so excited about a gift I made him that it made me cry.

    1. I love Christmas candid shots so much!; they definitely capture the moment. Be sure to get in on a few of them Momma! Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Great photo!!! I have a really hard time with getting my kids to stay still for photos, so I always end up with a ton of blurry photos. I don’t have plans for holiday photos, but I know I should try to get some of my little people.

    1. I know what you mean about the kids being still…even if you take some while they’re asleep would be cool 🙂 for holiday photos! Thanks for stopping by!

      1. Taking photos while sleeping is a great idea 🙂

  4. Great photo of your son! We haven’t done a holiday photo in years. Something to think about.

    1. Thanks so much Sherry! I like getting some type of pic around this time of the kids just to document how they’ve grown too. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Nice picture. My daughter loves taking pictures but she always has to be silly so that’s what we went with this a year. A fun, photo booth style shoot.
