I had the pleasure of doing an engagement photography session this past weekend with a dear family friend of mine and her fiancé.

Engagement_03714-1-4Due to a slight delay the session was shot at high noon which in most cases is a photographer’s nightmare. Thankfully I had a backup plan to counter the sun by selecting shaded areas and I also used a lighting reflector/diffuser kit that I got from Amazon. The shot pictured right was taken in direct sunlight but with the use of the diffuser, the image is softened.

Now let’s talk about location…this location was perfect! This spot is historic, so it is very scenic and had such variety for capturing shots of the lovely couple.

This was a session I would call an easy session because the couple was comfortable with PDA, that’s public displays of affection and was just lovingly interactive with each other…completely made my job so easy and it was simply refreshing to be around all the love! I so enjoyed it…can’t wait for my next session and I pray that it is as great as this one!

Here are some engagement session outfit ideas, if you find yourself needing some ideas or something to send to your clients. Please share any tips you may have for dealing with noontime sunlight (besides the obvious of avoiding it) and any outfit ideas for lovely couples.
