Want. Rent. Repeat. I’ve shopped Express since I was in College and that has been a few years ago. Like well over 10 years ago, lol. I absolutely love the style of their clothes. And if you were to raid my closet, you’d find all of my staple pieces are from their brand. So, I was curious to try the Express Style Trial when I heard about it. And since I was offered a 30 day free trial, I decided to give it a try. And I’m sharing my experience with you today.

Express jeans were the very 1st to fit my curves as they should…like no joke. Which makes their jeans the only ones that I wear. And I actually worked at Express clothing store during college and loved it. The thing though, mostly, if not all of my pay check went to buying clothes. Can you imagine?

Express Style Trial

So what is the Express Style Trial? It’s a monthly rental subscription service from Express clothing store. You sign up and get started filling your ‘virtual closet’ with items that you would like sent to you in your box. You can prioritize the items by flagging them. You receive 3 items per box. If you love them, you have the opportunity to keep them at a reduced cost. But if you would like to try new items, you can return the items. In the provided return postage bag. It’s really a simple process.

So here’s what I got.

Express Style Trial

Pink Petal Dress | High Waist Button Up Bell Jeans | Lace Sheath Dress

These 3 weren’t bad but they were a ‘no go’ for me, based on my current needs. So I sent all of these items back to receive 3 more items. You can see what I received in the quick video below.

Now, the 2nd box was spot on. And I ended up keeping one of the items for only a whopping $13! So here’s the skinny.

Pros:

  • Try-on in the comfort of your home
  • Try out different styles
  • Increase your wardrobe variety
  • Free return shipping on items you don’t want
  • Discount on items that you decide to keep
  • Can cancel at any time

Cons:

  • Limited selection. I found that not all of their online store items where available in the rental service. This also applied to size selection. For some of the items that I really wanted, my size was out.
  • Cost. At $69 per month, it is a bit pricey when considering how often you spend per month on buying clothes.

I canceled the subscription only due to the fact that I shop Express more often than waiting to receive a box from the Express Trial Style. However, the pros DO out weigh the cons for those of you looking for a little variety in your closet for work or play.
