Week 19: It’s All Good {Previous Weeks}

Isaiah 59:19 (KJV)
“…When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.”

The enemy, our adversary, the devil walks about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). His one goal is to steal, kill, and destroy us (John 10:10). So the verse above says when the devil comes in like a flood, meaning when the devil throws into our lives an overflow of mishaps, bad circumstances, bad situations, sickness, debt, financial problems, etc…the verse continues to say that the Spirit of the Lord, who is our strong tower (Proverbs 18:10) and a very present help in the time of need (Psalm 46:1), raises or lifts up a standard against him.

Now a standard is something that is established by an authority as a model or example used as a basis for what is considered acceptable or morally correct (merriam-webster). So when, the devils brings us chaos, the Lord our God, the highest authority there is because he is King of kings and Lord of lords (Revelation 19:16), proclaims a standard! And that standard says…I know the plans I have for MY child, those plans are GOOD and not evil (Jeremiah 29:11)! Good things for you and good things for me is God’s plan, that’s the standard and the devil must adhere to it! Praise God and be encouraged!
