Now ya’ll already know that I am a Foodie! Well, if loving to eat and cook a little counts, lol. So hear me when I say, that I was super excited to get the opportunity to chat with 3 of the TOP 18 Contestants from the hit food competition show, MasterChef Season 9 on FOX. A new episode airs this Wednesday, July 11th!
So today I’m sharing my Interview with THE Sweetest Chef Ashley, Educator turned Culinary Enthusiast. I had a few minutes to chat with Ashley over the phone with a full house listening in, being joined with several members of the show’s production team.
Right off the bat, Ashley’s bubbly, warm and friendly personality made the chat so comfortable. I was so excited to speak with her, as she is on fire in the MasterChef kitchen representing Team Gordon Ramsay.
She is passionate about food and about inspiring others. I was caught off guard when during the interview, she asked if she could ask me a question. It was related to Homeschool and how it was going for us. How sweet of her to ask, right?! She’s the sweetest. Sooo let’s get into the interview, so that you can learn more about her.
ASHLEY MINCEY
Describe yourself in 5 words.
1. Creative. She says her mind is always working, thinking of new ideas and new hustles. 2. Eclectic. 3. Respectful. 4. Outgoing and 5. Fearless.
What’s your why? What Inspires you?
Her Passions. She says that it took her a while to figure out what those were. And that she found Culinary to be one of them. Because it’s a way of connecting to people with food. Sharing stories, meeting new people. Experiencing something new with the beacon being food, energizes and motivates her and it’s exciting. She says finding your passion excites you to waking up every day.
What food could you never go without?
Macaroni and Cheese. It was the first thing she says came to mind. Being that it was the 1st thing that she learned to make with her Aunt who lived with her in a house of 8. She says that Mac and Cheese brings a bit of nostalgia plus with bacon it’s just perfect!
What’s your signature dish?
“Mojo Anything”! She won her 1st Mystery Box competition with her Mojo Pork dish. And has received other accolades with other Mojo dishes, like her Mojo ribs and Moho chicken.
What do you plan to do if you win that $250,000?
The responsible thing to do, she says, would be to pay off student debt. I felt her on that one lol. But her dream is to travel again. To other countries to experience some authentic style cooking. She would love to meet new people along the way, possibly traveling to French speaking areas like Africa and then Europe. In short she would Travel, Cook and Eat. And I’m sure REPEAT!
