I never would’ve thought in a million years that I’d have a family of 6, maybe a family of 4, maybe. And as the kids grow, they are eating more and more…lol, that’s just how it goes, right. So with that, it has been a sanity saver to have some type of plan for meals. And because we are homeschoolers and eat all 3 meals at home, most days. It is even more vital. So, I have to Meal Plan Like a Boss.
My Hubs has been a life saver for me in this area. He actually put together a meal plan calendar for me and it has really made life easier. Today, I’m sharing 3 easy tips for creating your meal plan.
Meal Plan Like a Boss
- Start with the protein. Meal planning becomes overwhelming when we try to think of complete meal ideas. By starting with just a protein. It lessens the pressure of thinking of meal after meal for a week or month. And it gives more freedom for creativity in the overall meal. Then you can add in a variety of sides.
- Alternate easy with not so easy meals. If you’re like me, cooking consecutively can be draining. How I counter that is by, planning easy meals along side not so easy meals through the week. I consider easy meals, like crock pot, one pan or one pot meals. Then the not so easy meals which really means they take longer to prepare. Are the meals that have a million more steps it seems, but they are so good and they add a bit of spice to the menu.
- Get Inspired. There’s nothing more boring than eating the same thing over and over again. No one wants to do that. So many places to get inspiration from. You can start with a simple Pinterest board. And you can also categorize with ‘easy meals’, ‘slow cooker’, ‘theme meals’, etc.
I’m always adding to my list of meals. So what are some of your faves that I can add to my list?
