Monday’s Madness:  I have to mentally prepare myself for this first day of every work week: to revisit the load of tasks that were unfinished on Friday, the tasks for the day, projects to be completed by the end of the week or month and oh yeah, the “hot” issue(s) that arise during the day that only I can take care of ! Needless to say Mondays are not my favorite day of the week.

I have to make a conscious effort to change the way I think about it, in order to make it a great day! Every work day for that matter! I start with the thought  that everyday is a gift from God! From there, I meditate on a few scriptures that I have posted on my monitor at my desk:

Do everything without complaining. Philippians 2:14 (I tend to do a little complaining once and again. This scripture is kind of sobering because complaining gets you no where so why do it.)

Work with enthusiasm as though you were working for the Lord, rather than people. Ephesians 6:7  (My thoughts are:  I may not get recognized, get promoted, etc., in the timing that I think I should, but if I work unto the Lord and truly believe that I will be rewarded by him, nothing else will matter. I have to constantly remind myself of this.)

I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation. Philippians 4:12 (This is true dependence on God, trusting that he’s got my back no matter what and it’s all about him anyway and not about what I want. Ultimately, I want what God wants!)

These scriptures keep me centered and helps to take the edge off the Monday Madness because I choose to focus on God (I have to do this over and over again).

How do you combat the Monday Madness?
