Preparing to Homeschool. I made the decision to homeschool less than 2 months before the school year started! For starters, I DO NOT SUGGEST THIS! But as I mentioned in Our Choice to Homeschool, the calling came over me like many times before and this time, I had to move on it. So what did I do to prepare? Research, Research and Researched and then I got smart and asked the seasoned homeschoolers I know for advice and tips.

I think I may have read over 100 articles about how to prepare and I honestly became SO overwhelmed that I really thought about not doing it this school year. But I know for those who God has called, he ALWAYS equips. So, one option that I thought of was to do an online academy. I found one and even went through the process of applying and registering but then after looking at the curriculum more in-depth; I decided that I wanted ABSOLUTE FREE reign over what our children would be learning.

So, what would have helped me give a little order to all the chaos? A simple and easy Homeschool Prep Checklist, so I’m providing one for you here!

The checklist is definitely not all-inclusive but it is a “Jump Start” to getting your motor running on some very important things to consider when preparing to homeschool. Later, I’ll be sharing my personal teaching style, lesson plans, schedules, curriculum and reviews, and updates on how it’s all going.
