Sew Easy 101: Sewing Basics {Threading A Needle}
I recently polled my Facebook viewers on items that they would like to see posted and one of the items included sewing tutorials. Sooo, I thought, what better way to start than with the basics.
“Sew Easy 101: Sewing Basics”, is really self-explanatory. This will be a series of tutorials on sewing basics such as threading a needle, sewing on a button, hemming pants, repairing a torn seam… The truth is, many people don’t want to know how to sew an evening gown but they do want to learn the basics in order to fix things around the house.
This short and simple video takes you through the steps of threading a needle.
The only items needed is thread, scissors and a needle. The needle itself has two ends, one being the point of the needle and the other, the eye of the needle. The eye of the needle is where you will pull the thread through.
1. Cut a piece of thread at your desired length.
2. With the thread in one hand and the needle in the other, place the thread through the eye of the needle.
3. Pull the thread through the eye until it is even with the other piece of thread, leaving 2 equal lengths of thread.
4. Holding the two ends of the thread together, tie the thread ends into one knot.
And there you have it, you’ve just threaded a needle!
