Week 11: Speak Life {Previous Weeks}

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)
Life and Death are in the power of the tongue.

Genesis 1:1 says that God created the heavens and the earth and then Genesis 1:27 says that we are made in the image of God. These verses tell us that our God is a creator and because we are made in his image; we are inherently creative beings! So just as God spoke the world into existence and created all things just with the spoken word; we also have the ability to speak into our own lives. We can speak either positively or negatively. With that said, just as we guard our minds and choose to think on positive things; we must guard our speech and choose to speak only positive things!

For example, the day may not be going so well and you may be tempted to say, “This day is horrible and it’s only going to get worst”! I encourage you to combat that type of speech with the word of God by saying, “This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24) and see what a difference it will make!

Again, Proverbs 18:21 says that Life and Death are in the power of the tongue! What we say is what we have! What are you speaking into your life…good or bad? Choose today to speak Life!
