Celebrating Advent involves a period of spiritual preparation for Christmas when many Christians make themselves ready for the coming of Jesus Christ. With that said, I wanted to personally set aside some time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.
I came across “The Advent Challenge” on my Twitter feed hosted by Lydia at Journals of Piccolo Pixie! As she puts it, each day you listen to a Christmas song during advent and then say either what it means to you, what you think of it or something it reminds you of, as it relates to the song and Christmas. This challenge is happening each day until Christmas so I will do my best to keep up!
Day 8: Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

By definition, Hark means to pay close attention and a Herald is a royal or official messenger. So the song title within itself says to pay close attention to what the Angels, the royal and official messengers of the Lord are singing! Wow, I honestly really never thought about the title of song until now. The song in its entirely reminds me to continually be excited about the coming of the Lord and truly begins to prepare my heart to celebrate the birth of the Savior at Christmas…Glory to the new born King!
