It’s year ending 2018 and here we go 2019. So, have you thought through goals that you’d like to accomplish in 2019? Are you still working to complete your 2018 goals? No worries at all. Progress is better than no progress. Today’s post is all about Vision Casting 2019 – 5 Steps. A tad different than goal setting but let’s discuss further.
Now what exactly is Vision Casting? Simply put, it is the act of casting (throwing in a specific direction) a vision for yourself, a particular project, organization, business, etc. Vision is similar to goal setting; however, it gives a clear outlook to what your efforts are to produce. The big big picture.
You may be familiar with the proverb: Where there is no vision, the people perish. Because vision is just that important.
Vision Casting 2019 – 5 Steps
So here are a five steps on how to cast your vision for 2019.
- Pray. And ask for God’s Wisdom and guidance in giving and clarifying your vision for the new year. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5
- Dissect. Each area of your life and put them into buckets or categories. For instance: marriage, career, family, finances, faith. Every area should be accounted for.
- Visualize. How you would like each area to look in the future. Whether 5 years from now or 10 years from now. Longer or shorter term. Ask yourself questions like, what do I want my financial situation to look like. For instance, debt free!
- Write. Them all down. This is the most important step. The bible says in Habakkuk to “Write the vision and make it plain”. This could be in the form of a Vision Board, in a journal or even your Notes app on your phone.
- Pray. For guidance in ways to make your vision come into fruition. Ask for actionable steps that you must take. And revisit your vision each day with prayer. Speaking life over it and God’s blessing and strength for you to see it come to pass.
I started and ended the vision casting process with prayer, as it is most essential to the process.
“Without a Vision, There is No Provision” – Festus Nsoha
God can only answer the prayers that we pray! If we do not pray, he will not miraculously give. The bible says that we must make our request known to God (Philippians 4:6); we must ask him for it. The bible also says that we have not because we ask not (James 4:2)! A Vision tells God what we are striving for, it shows him our desires, what we would like to see come to past in our future and when we pray over our vision…God can and will provide for us.
So, go and get started with casting your vision for 2019!
