Newkicks

Checkout my new workout shoes, Nike Revolution 2! My hubby bought them for me a few days ago and I broke them in on Day 27 of my 30 miles in 30 days Challenge! Speaking of which, dun dun dun…..I already aced this challenge, logging 2 miles yesterday, putting me at 31.1 miles on Day 28!! Yes, perseverance does pay off! I didn’t meet my goals on my first try with this challenge, falling considerably short. So, if at first you don’t succeed, really, try try again!

Overall, I have been in “kick it up” gear as vacation time is coming up in a little over a month! I’ve been running about 5 days per week (thanks to the 30 in 30 challenge) and doing strength training at least 3 days per week. My motto is to get it in whenever you can fit it in! Here’s a great exercise to get in while you’re brushing your teeth (SMILE):

The Wall Squat! I first started doing these when I was doing the P90x Series.

Wall Squat

Find a free/clear wall space and follow the positioning shown above: Position A, is the starting/resting position and Position B, is the actual wall squat.

From Position A, lower into Position B (the squat) and hold for as long as you can (no limits here). Then lift into Position A to rest. It’s okay if its only for a few seconds. Yes, seconds! Believe me, your quads will let you know that this exercise is serious! The amount of repetitions can be dependent upon the length of time that you are brushing your teeth. Hence, getting it in, where you can fit it in!

This exercise is sure to help with toning your quads (front of the thigh)! Try it and let me know how you love it!!!
