The season is here for showing off those great abs you have worked all winter for, right?! If you haven’t quite kicked it into gear yet, no worries. Now, is always the best time to start!

My Favorite Ab Exercise: The Medicine ball seated twists!

I actually got this exercise from a dvd in my P90X series called Ab Ripper X. I added the medicine ball for more resistance and it is awesome for working my abs. This exercise allows you to hit your abs while also working your core muscles.  I do about 100 of these, taking a break after every 25 reps.

Seated Twist

To perform this exercise:

  • Sit on the floor with your knees bent and feet raised, heels parallel to the floor.
  • Sit back at about a 45 degree angle.
  • Holding the medicine ball with both hands, twist the ball from one side of your body to the other side of your body.
  • Repeat until you are at your desired number of reps.

30 miles in 30 days Update: Day 24 of 30, 13.73 miles; a little behind, I know! I will be starting this challenge again on Monday, May 13th! If you would like to join me, let me know so that you can link up with me and you can also chime in on Twitter at #30miles30days.

Quick Tip of the Week: Get it in where you can fit it in! If you have 5 minutes while you’re cooking dinner, waiting for your timer to alarm; do some jumping jacks or run in place! It all counts!
