HomeremedyHome Remedy for the Changing Seasons

With the changing of seasons, there comes the potential for changes in our bodies seemingly: runny noses, sneezing, coughing, headaches, etc…symptoms! I have been experiencing those for the past week, yucky.

One of the best ways to combat these symptoms is by getting plenty of rest and fluids. So I’ve actually paired down my workouts until these symptoms subside. Additionally, I’ve been making my favorite home remedy…honey lemon tea! My mom would always made this honey lemon tea when my sisters and I would get sick. It’s a great home remedy for toddlers/kids because it is all natural. The only difference with my recipe and my mom’s is that she would add castor oil to it (Eeewww), to “clean out” our systems, lol! It worked though and at times when cold/flu/sinus symptoms are rough; I also include a very small amount castor oil (about a 1/2 tsp). You do not need much.

Here are quick instructions to prepare one (1) cup of honey lemon tea for those days when you’re feeling a little under the weather.

Ingredients: 3 Tbsp of fresh squeezed lemon juice, 2 cups water, 2 Tbsp pure honey, 1 tea bag

Instructions: Boil the 2 cups of water. In a cup, add the honey and lemon juice. Stir in the boiling water and then add in the tea bag. Let the tea steep for at least 2min. Drink while warm.

Hmmmm….relief!
