3 Things That Make A Great Blog!

1. Great Content – What do I mean by “great”? Based on the blog’s ‘About Me’ page, the content written in each post aligns with their vision for their blog. Also, there is a point of view from the writer to the viewer that is being conveyed in a descriptive and/or creative way, something that the writer has either experienced, researched or passionate about.

2. Consistency – Whether you post once/week or everyday; there should be some consistency with it. Don’t get me wrong, having a blog myself, I know that you need a break every now and again. In those instances, just let your followers know what they can expect. But as a blog reader, I absolutely love it when I receive the notification that my favorite blogs have posted.
3. Pictures – Reading a blog post is like reading a book or magazine. Literature with visuals are always more appealing than those without them. And what about those viewers/followers that are visual learners anyway; they definitely want to see pictures.

I think the biggest thing I struggle with is photography. I have a good camera and my pictures aren’t awful, but I’m also really new to photography and have a lot to learn!
I should’ve mentioned that I’m working on all 3 thing for my blog: better content, consistency and pictures. Funny that you mention that about your camera. I have a good camera as well but need to read the manual to learn to set it to high-definition setting. Persistence is key though, so we’ll get there! Thanks for stopping by Natasha :)!!
Thanks so much for the mention ! I agree with all the points you’ve made. Another aspect I’ve found important is style of writing. I love blogs that seem almost conversational, they really draw in readers.

Yes, your blog is one of my favs!!! What a great point about style of writing. It sheds some light on why some posts get more comments than others, probably because they were written in a more conversational manner…hmmm.
