We are almost done with our 1st semester of our 4 year of Homeschooling. When I first started out, I did tons and tons of research in order to select curriculum that I felt best suited our children’s needs. And I find still, that I need to tweak and make adjustments each year. But today, I wanted to share 5 Inexpensive Education Resources that I’ve used over the past several years that we’ve been Homeschooling, that are tried and true, that have been of great use to our homeschool journey.
5 Inexpensive Educational Resources
ABC Mouse ($9.95/mth). Early Learning Academy. For ages 2-8 years old. I started this subscription 3 years ago, about a year after starting homeschooling. At that time, I was looking for something to use with our preschooler (Wow, it doesn’t seem like that long ago). I started with their free 30 day trial, which we loved and continued from there. Now I’m about to start using it with our now preschooler.
Curiosity Stream ($2.99/mth). I use Curiosity Stream to reinforce History and Science lessons, no matter which grade. But there is a wide array of subjects that can be applicable from Art, Math, Geography, etc. It’s great to use when you want a break from textbooks.
RightNow Media (Free). This is a free resource to us that is made possible through our church. We use this for our Bible Class. I just started using RightNow Media for school, this school year actually. Focusing on series on Apologetics which I feel is so important to teach our kids. About defending the Faith.
Netflix (7.99/mth). This is really great for the entire family. As we know how entertaining it can be. But Netflix is great for viewing documentaries.
Education.com. (Free). Grades 1-5. This is a great resource with a variety of subjects from Math to Typing. On Education.com you will find a learning library that includes worksheets, online games, guided lessons, lesson plans and hands-on lessons. I love using the worksheets to reinforce things we are learning in Math. I’ve used this for a few years with for 1st and 2nd grade.
What inexpensive educational resources would you add to this list?
