Week 5: In His Presence {Previous Weeks}
You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11 (Amp)
His Presence is Heaven to Me, sings singer/songwriter Israel Houghton. There is absolutely nothing that can be compared to the presence of God. At first thought, you think that the presence that is mentioned in the verse is speaking of a worship experience but the preceding text says that God will show us the path of life. So experiencing His Presence is more of a life journey than a once and a while experience! So how does he show us the path for this life journey? By the leading of the Spirit, that which is being heard through our conscious, that still small voice that speaks to us in our inner being. Psalm 37:23 says that the steps of a (good) man are directed and established by the Lord. We must train ourselves to listen, hear and be led by the Spirit. I fully believe when we are on “the” path of life, living out the plan that God has for us, we live out our lives in His presence and as the verse says in His presence there is fullness of joy.
It almost seems at times that we get glimpses of this fullness of joy but God’s best is for us to experience it at all times. I challenge you and myself to seek to be led by the Spirit of God so that we can live in His Presence where we will have a Joy that cannot be touched by any circumstance or situation!
