No Pacifier, No Bottles

No Pacifier, No Bottles Please! There’s been so much buzz lately over Moms nursing their babies in public. I personally do not have a problem with it, although I do not choose to do so myself. But I’m not discussing that topic today.

The discussion for today is about having that little talk with the hospital staff once you’ve arrived and it’s time to deliver baby, to let them know that you will be nursing your little one and with that is particular instructions. The instructions, for me, include to not give baby any bottles or pacifiers and that she will be a ‘stay-in’ the room baby. This is so important to me, since I will be exclusively nursing for a while, as I’ve done with my other littles.

I’ve heard of a few stories where, it all went wrong and the baby ends up being confused and having a hard time nursing altogether. On Pinterest, I saw that some Moms have made signs for their little’s hospital bassinet as a reminder to the hospital staff. So using Canva, I quickly created one and plan to use it! Here is the bassinet sign printable without the blog watermark.

No Pacifier, No Bottles

What was your experience when it came to your newborn after delivery? How did you handle it? Did you take any preventative measures (i.e. birth plan)?

  1. Such a cute little sign. I’m sure it helps to let everyone know your preferences early on!

  2. Same here! With Madison she nursed very soon after she was born and when they moved us too our room I kept her with us as well. I like the sign idea for our next one though. Just to be safe!
