Week 10: Nothing Without You {Previous Weeks}

John 15:5 (NIV)
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

Somewhere along the way, we have adopted the idea that we can do everything on our own. This is far from the truth. We could not even take a breath, if God does not allow it. Acts 17:28 says that it is in him that we live, move and have our being. This is such a humbling fact but if we truly embrace it; it can be very comforting. We can find comfort knowing that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13)! We can have comfort knowing that when we are weak, he is strong (2 Corinthians 12:10)!

This week’s verse in John 15 says that if we abide in him which means to focus on him, seek him, learn more about him so that we can live lives that mirror his then we will bear much fruit. Bearing fruit means that we will prosper! It means that we will be effective in our helps to others, our families, those that are hurting around us and in our personal lives, our relationships, our businesses, etc.

Let us remember to stay God-Centered and God-Focused as we go about our daily tasks and in all of our decision-making, so that all we do, will be prosperous!
