Support Schools with Box Tops + Giving Chart Printable-2

Support Schools with Box Tops. School will start in a few weeks…And I have to admit, although I have 1 year of homeschool under my belt now, I am a little nervous. My oldest daughter will begin 5th grade, and my youngest son will begin kindergarten. As a home educator and an educator in general, it is my job to cultivate a love for learning for our children! It is my job to make education fun! It is my job to provide our children with the tools that they need to be successful! Unfortunately, some children are not afforded that opportunity. Some schools are lacking in staff. And some in the supplies that are needed to ensure that the children that attend are successful. That’s why I’m so proud of the Box Tops for Education program.

We’ve collected Box Tops for years, since my oldest daughter began public school. It was always challenging to hear that classroom supplies were needed … and to see that the teachers always had a wish list because the funds weren’t available for them to purchase items that they needed. So we contributed in any way that we could, including through the Box Top program.

Since beginning our homeschool journey last year…we have continued to collect Box Tops as a way to give back to schools in our community! And this year we are going to track our giving with a giving chart. This is a way to keep the kids excited about giving and it gives them a chance to visibly see the impact that they are making in the world. And since each box top in worth 10 cents…we are able to put a monetary value to that impact.

This weekend we did some back to school shopping at Walmart. And I was super excited to see that select General Mills products had 5 for 1 Box Tops! We picked up some of our favorites: Honey Nut Cheerios, Nature Valley Fruit & Salty Nut Bars and of course Pillsbury Chocolate Chip Cookies.

So with the addition of the items we picked up from Walmart plus the Box Tops we already collected. We charted $3 toward giving back to schools in our community with Box Tops.

The kids are super excited about seeing how much they impact our community this school year! Get Our Giving Chart to track your giving this year!

Whether you are continuing to support your community through the Box Top program or you are just getting started. Now is the time to get to Walmart to get 4 additional box tops for 1!

  1. I love the Box Tops program. My son is now in the 8th grade and we’ve contributed to the Box Tops program since Kindergarten. Our elementary school made it a challenge to see who could collect the most box tops. At the end of the 9 weeks the class from each grade level that collected the most box tops got a pizza party. I love that you put the monetary value on it for your kids so they can see how much each box top brings in. That’s a really fun and awesome way of doing it!

  6. I love everything about this. As a soon-to-be mom of a public school kindergartner, I so appreciate that you’re doing this even though you home school. Thank you.

I’ve never really done this before, but I have been thinking a lot about it the past few days. I love the money tracker. Can’t wait to start!
